What's that - Bake Offs?! Don't talk about...The Great British Bake Offs!

The bakers on the GBBS are extremely talented and very inspiring. So much so that I have thrown myself headlong into a GBBS-inspired training regimen in order to further develop and inspire my own baking. Happily, this also helps to justify the continued additions to the custom-built cookbook shelves that were installed around the New Year.
My goal has been to bake at least 2-3 things per week with a focus on either new recipes, techniques, or bakes from the GBBS shows. So far, things appear to be relatively on track, schedule-wise, and the kitchen continues to be delicious. I'll post some recaps of the past few weeks - these run the gamut from triumphs to disasters (spoiler alert - both ends of the spectrum involve macarons), as well as some "mehs." And then, moving forward, I'll keep updating with the latest creations.
So, without further ado:
